A Spoon full of Sugar - Challenge 10

This weeks theme over at A spoon full of sugar is Animal Magic, you have to use an Animal somewhere on your design. I thought this Hanglar image was perfect and I gave her a grey cat because that's what colour my cat is. She was coloured with Prisma pencils, the papers are Kay Miller. Sentiments are Autumn leaves, I added buttons, Prima flowers and some childrens beads. Ooh and a bit of embroidery thread. Ooh ooh I also did a bit of stitching with the same thread.

Tilda ATC Challenge - Beads

FRIDAY SKETCHERS 12

This weeks Friday Sketchers 12 is a nice simple layout, which I thought was a good one for a male card, as I have my nephews Birthday coming up and boys don't really like fussy. I have used the downloadable version of AJ from Dinky Dots, I just printed him out on different coloured card then paper pieced him. ( Thanks Sonia ) I have used Shabby Princess papers, Bazzill card stock, ric rac and ribbon and a couple of football brads. Ooh and my new barcode stamps from Autumn leaves - Which I must say are fabulous value for money - You get 30 stamps in this set with some cracking useful sentiments many which you can inter-link.

Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Call

I've been blog hopping again and this time I came across a challenge with a difference, it is to be a Guest designer for Whiff of Joy. You can click on my link HERE and check out Katharinas blog. Whiff of Joy is a new Company with a very cute stamp called Charlotte and her friend called charlie. She will also be selling a new range of stamps by the amazing Elizabeth Bell. So, I thought I would have a go,( any excuse to make another card )Anyway, I stamped Sweet and Sassy by Elizabeth Bell with Stazon, coloured her with Prisma pencils, she has been layered onto Bazzill card stock and 2 different Basic Grey papers. I have used a Make it Crafts, Ribbon slider and Ribbon. Done a couple of embroidery corners added a few gems then topped it off with a touch of stickles.

My Time to Craft - Challenge 23 - Artfully Asian

I've been blog hopping again, I found another challenge site, whoopee, they so give me an excuse to be creative. This challenge blog is called My Time to Craft. This weeks theme is Artfully Asian, ( well it's almost last weeks now, because it closes tonight at 10pm ). Phew, just about made it. Because I don't have much time, I've done an atc. The image is from a scrapbook sheet called Tags Galore - It's by a company called Designs Galore, I bought this sheet of paper 2 years ago when in Australia, visiting my sis. The Blossom stamp is from Paper Insirations. a couple of eyelets a bit of Ribbon and some gems. All stamped and layered on Bazzill. A real quickie. I won't leave it so late next time.

Friday Sketchers - 11

This weeks Friday Sketchers was a nice simple layout. Been playing catch up, so I've only just managed to do mine. The background paper is from a free downloadable set by the lovely Vicki, the zip is an element which is also part of the same set. I've done Tilda sat on the Summer background - Part chalked and the rest Prisma pencils. With some shabby chic flowers, I was going to glaze the flowers but couldn't be bothered waiting for them to dry, so I got out the old sticky back plastic and stuck them face down before cutting out. Same effect much quicker. Some sizzix leaves, the stamped sentiment is from Autumn leaves and gems from my sis.

Lulu and AJ Anniversary card

This is my first attempt with the very excellent Lulu and AJ. I can't wait for the stamp versions of these images as I want to get busy paper piecing them. They are from a new company called Dinky Dots. They are only available as downloads at the moment, but will be available as stamps shortly. I coloured them in with Prisma pencils, layered them on Kay Miller downloadable papers and added a bit of bling. I think I'll probably use this one for some christmas cards as well, I can imagine a nice bit of mistletoe hanging above them. If you would like to check out more designs of these images why not pop over to Alison's blog.

Tilda Challenge - Our Animal Friends

I've been fairly busy this week and I'm playing catch up , so my atc is a little later than usual, but I can't miss the Tilda atc challenges, they're the highlight of my week. I love making these little cuties. I have decoupaged the sheep and cut out a rectangle from the countryside background. Everything has been coloured this week with chalks. I haven't used them for quite a while and I thought they deserved an outing. The heart stamp is a new one that I bought, they are a set of useful small background stamps by a company called paper salon. I then added a sentiment and a few flat back pearl gems.

Dutch Dare Card Challenge 5

Whilst doing a spot of Blog Hopping, I noticed this challenge over on Wendy's Blog. The Dutch Dare Challenge. So, I thought I would give it a go, I just love making cards, so all the challenge sites give me an excuse to indulge myself. This weeks challenge was to use just one piece of designer paper, I stamped the new Pen Pals by Elizabeth Bell with Stazon, coloured her with Prisma pencils, which I seem to now prefer over my much loved water colours. I used a downloadable paper from Shabby Princess, Some Bazzill card stock, a couple of small stamps from an Inkadinkado set and some mega gems from my sis. I really enjoyed this one because it gave me an excuse to use yet another new stamp.

One For The Girls - Challenge 8

Distressed Tilda Challenge 28 - Take 2

I was really unhappy with my first attempt at the distressed Tilda, so I've had another go at distressing Tilda for the Magnolia challenge blog.I had a sudden flash of inspiration and remembered back to my school days, in particular my History lesson, when we had to make a scroll and age it, So, I stamped Tilda with Stazon onto watercolour paper, then, I totally colour washed the whole thing with watered down black coffee, filled in small areas with a stronger coffee, then stuck it under the grill. Matted it onto Shabby Princess papers, embellished it with a bit of ribbon, ric rac, gems and eyelets and used my favourite flourish stamp, from the Autumn leves set. I'm as happy as I'm ever going to be doing distressed Tilda and this is my last attempt.

Distressed Tilda Challenge 28

I actually found this one quite difficult, I can't think of Tilda as anything but girlie, all pink and purple. Or Summery, all reds, oranges and greens. So I had to try and tone her down, I used some papers which are a free download from an amazing blog site which is dedicated to free downloadable scrapbook papers and layouts. Vicki is an amazingly talented lady that doesn't mind sharing - but no commercial use please - so thank you Vicki, I'm so glad I found your site. Tilda was paper pieced, for her face and hair I used Prismas. Added some bling from my sis, the flourish and sentiment stamps are from Autumn leaves and the with love stamp is part of a set from Cuddly Buddly. The flowers are Prima with a dovecraft brad in the middle.

A couple of male cards I made today

I have a couple of male Birthdays coming up so I thought I'd get them done today, after everybody had gone home ( Sunday is the day all the kids descend on us for dinner, it's like a madhouse, great to see them all, but oh so peaceful when they go home ) Any way this was my way of relaxing - I have paper pieced Kyle from Cuddly Buddly then matted and layered him on some papers which are part of the pirate downloadable set which is also cuddly buddly. The matting block behind him and the hinges are actually tags, but after a bit of creative time I came up with these. The other one is also a downloadable set from Cuddly Buddly, called local lads. These are great because you get everything you need to make your card. images, papers, tags etc.

Friday Sketchers 10

Not too much on this week , so I thought I would have another go at a challenge. This is for the Friday sketchers challenge. It was to use a layout which was pre-selected. I used Summer ice cream stamp by Elizabeth Bell which I coloured with Prisma pencils. I matted and layered her on Shabby Princess papers.I used a sentiment out of an Autumn leaves set, Prima flowers, gems from my sis, some embroidery thread which has been taking up room in my sewing box for far too long now and plenty of stickles. After I had matted and layered the image onto the card I thought it looked a bit stark so I gave it an all over light stippling with a Chestnut memories ink pad.

Cute card Thursday challenge 18

I have been blog hopping this week and found this challenge that everybody is doing over on the cute card Thursday challenge blog. So, I thought I would have a go. This week's theme was a card for a child. I have used the picking apples stamp by Elizabeth Bell,I love these stamps because they can be for children or adults that like cute. I have coloured her with prismas and added a touch of stickles. The background papers are Shabby Princess. The sentiment stamps are from an Autumn Leaves set. I have used Prima flowers and Dovecraft gem brads. Ooh and a little bit of ribbon which I attached through Dovecraft eyelets. Being a card for a child I thought the emphasis should be on nice bright colours.

Tilda atc challenge - Pearls

This week's challenge for the Tilda atc challenge blog was to put something pearly on your atc, either pearl paint, pearl paper, pearl gems etc. My Tilda was done using water colour for the face and prismas everywhere else. I layered her with a couple of scraps of Shabby Princess papers and topped her on Bazzill. I then added lots of little self adhesive pearls to her dress and larger size pearls to decorate the flower and edges of the topper. ( ooh and a touch of stickles on Tildas wings and Butterfly )I have to say a BIG THANK YOU to my sis Pauline in Oz for the pearls.
(If you saw my stash of gems and pearls that she sends me , you would all want her for your sister)

A spoon full of Sugar Challenge 7

This week's theme for a spoon full of sugar challenge 7 is "One for the Boy's" I made this one with the sugar Nellie Luca fishing. I used Basic Grey papers, the swirls and flowers are from an Autumn leaves - mindy's flowers set, the sentiment is from an Autumn leaves sentiments circles set. I added a bit of ribbon and some gems. This card I did with a flap that you tuck in to the front, I thought it would be a bit different and make the card a bit more interesting to the recipient. Luca had a bit of everything on him, water colour pencils on his face and hands, prisma pencils on his jumper and his fish and paper pieced his hat and dungarees.

Linda's card layout challenge

I made this one for ny fellow Cuddly Buddly members card challenge. Each month she sets us a new card layout. We can use any papers for background, but the main theme is to be a Cuddly Buddly stamp or image. It's great fun to join in, we have had some really great layouts. I needed a card for a very nice man that I know, who is an older Gentleman. I have used Shabby Princess papers, the flourishes are from an Autumn leaves set - mindy's flowers and the main image is the cheeky chappie Birthday Kyle from Cuddly Buddly, which I have paper pieced. I am really pleased with how this one turned out, so, thanks, Linda for an excellent layout challenge.

Grandad and Uncle cards

I made these 2 cards this morning, they are from a list of cards that my Daughter Catherine would like me to make for her. They are mostly male cards ( which I don't really like doing ) I prefer nice girlie ones. But saying that, I must say that Kim over at cuddly buddly has some great downloadable graphics, that come with tags and backing papers and everything. Which makes life so much easier. These are from her range known as local lads, my Daughter chose this graphic and wanted the same chap for both cards. I have decoupaged the images. I didn't want to do the same card so changed them slightly. they are for Grandad and Uncle.
